1. Purpose of This Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy explains what customers, resellers, end users, visitors, applications, scripts, domains, email accounts, servers, and services may and may not do while using Spantrix Limited’s network and services.
The policy is designed to protect Spantrix Limited’s infrastructure, customers, IP reputation, upstream providers, registrars, registries, payment processors, and the public.
2. Scope and Customer Responsibility
This policy applies to all services supplied by Spantrix Limited, including shared hosting, reseller hosting, WordPress hosting, VPS/cloud servers, email hosting, DNS, domains, SSL, backups, website security, migrations, and server administration.
Customers are responsible for their own users, visitors, scripts, applications, cron jobs, mailing lists, plugins, themes, CMS installations, reseller customers, clients, employees, contractors, and end users.
Resellers must enforce this policy against their customers and must promptly act when Spantrix Limited reports abuse originating from reseller services.
3. General Acceptable Use Rules
Customers must use services lawfully, responsibly, and in a manner that does not harm, overload, interrupt, scan, attack, mislead, exploit, or interfere with Spantrix Limited, other customers, upstream providers, third parties, or the public.
Customers must keep websites, applications, scripts, plugins, themes, passwords, servers, CMS installations, and email accounts patched, licensed, configured, and secured.
Customers must not attempt to bypass monitoring, metering, rate limits, security controls, firewalls, spam filters, abuse controls, or service restrictions.
4. Prohibited Unlawful Activity and Content
Customers must not use the services for activity that is unlawful in Nigeria, unlawful where the customer operates, unlawful where content is targeted, or prohibited by upstream providers, registries, registrars, or payment networks.
Prohibited content includes illegal goods or services, unlawful gambling, unlawful financial schemes, fraudulent investment schemes, counterfeit goods, stolen data, unauthorized access tools, unlawful drugs, terrorist content, unlawful weapons content, and content that instructs or facilitates serious harm where prohibited by law.
Spantrix Limited may restrict or remove content when it reasonably believes the content creates legal risk, abuse risk, reputational risk, network risk, payment risk, registry risk, or upstream-provider risk.
5. Spam, Bulk Email, and Mailing Lists
Customers must not send spam, unsolicited bulk email, unsolicited commercial email, list bombing, mail harassment, deceptive email, forged-header email, snowshoe spam, or email that violates applicable anti-spam rules.
Mailing lists must be permission-based, must use accurate sender information, must include a functioning unsubscribe process, and must not use purchased, scraped, harvested, rented, or coerced addresses.
Customers are responsible for email reputation, authentication records, bounced mail, complaints, blacklist listings, outbound mail volume, and compromised accounts.
Spantrix Limited may throttle, suspend, block ports, disable accounts, remove scripts, restrict sending, require authentication changes, or terminate service when email activity threatens IP reputation or service stability.
6. Phishing, Impersonation, Fraud, and Credential Theft
Customers must not host, relay, redirect, proxy, link to, advertise, or facilitate phishing, credential theft, fake login pages, impersonation, brand abuse, account takeover, scam websites, advance-fee fraud, fake support pages, fake payment pages, or fraudulent investment offers.
Spantrix Limited may act immediately on credible phishing or fraud reports, including disabling content, suspending service, preserving evidence, notifying registrars or registries, and reporting to upstream providers or legal authorities.
7. Malware, Exploits, Botnets, and Security Abuse
Customers must not host, distribute, command, control, sell, advertise, test, or operate malware, ransomware, spyware, keyloggers, exploit kits, botnets, loaders, droppers, credential stealers, command-and-control systems, or unauthorized vulnerability exploitation tools.
Compromised sites or servers may be isolated, suspended, rate-limited, cleaned, restored, or terminated depending on risk, account history, customer response, and upstream-provider requirements.
Customers must not use Spantrix services to attack, scan, exploit, brute-force, credential-stuff, scrape, overload, or attempt unauthorized access to systems owned by Spantrix Limited, other customers, or third parties.
8. Network Abuse and Attack Traffic
Prohibited network activity includes unauthorized port scanning, penetration testing without written authorization, DDoS activity, attack traffic, packet flooding, SYN floods, UDP floods, reflection/amplification attacks, spoofing, route abuse, open proxies, open relays, and insecure tunneling.
Spantrix Limited may null-route IP addresses, block ports, apply filters, rate-limit traffic, suspend services, or terminate accounts to protect the network, upstream providers, and customers.
9. Resource Abuse and Insecure Systems
Customers must not use shared hosting, email hosting, VPS/cloud servers, databases, or reseller accounts for crypto-mining, resource pooling, public file mirrors, excessive backup storage, mass mail relays, traffic exchanges, public proxies, high-volume scraping, or workloads unsuitable for the purchased plan.
Excessive CPU, RAM, disk, inode, database, email, bandwidth, process, I/O, or backup usage may result in throttling, suspension, required optimization, required upgrade, migration, or termination.
Customers must not leave systems materially insecure, including abandoned CMS installations, vulnerable plugins, exposed admin panels, open relays, default credentials, world-writable directories, or unpatched server software.
10. Intellectual Property and Harmful Conduct
Customers must not use the services to infringe copyright, trademark, design rights, trade secrets, publicity rights, privacy rights, or other intellectual-property rights.
Customers must not use the services for harassment, credible threats, unlawful doxxing, extortion, blackmail, unlawful surveillance, or conduct that Spantrix Limited reasonably believes creates serious legal or safety risk.
Child sexual abuse material, child exploitation material, grooming, trafficking, or any child-safety-related illegal material is strictly prohibited. Spantrix Limited may immediately suspend service and report relevant information to appropriate authorities.
11. Automated Abuse and Security Circumvention
Scraping, credential stuffing, brute-force attempts, automated account creation, CAPTCHA bypass, token harvesting, API abuse, mass signup abuse, and automation that violates a third party’s rights or terms are prohibited.
Customers must not attempt to evade abuse detection through rotation of domains, IP addresses, accounts, payment methods, nameservers, proxies, redirects, or hidden infrastructure.
12. Investigations, Notice, and Emergency Suspension
Spantrix Limited may investigate suspected abuse using logs, complaints, monitoring tools, third-party reports, upstream-provider notices, registrar or registry notices, blocklist reports, law-enforcement information, and customer submissions.
Spantrix Limited may provide notice and an opportunity to remediate when practical. Emergency action may be taken without notice when abuse threatens infrastructure, customers, upstream providers, legal position, IP reputation, payment processors, registries, registrars, third parties, or the public.
Customers must cooperate with abuse investigations and must provide information, remove content, patch systems, change passwords, disable scripts, identify end users, or take other remediation steps requested by Spantrix Limited.
13. Repeat Violations and Abuse Costs
Repeat violations, unresolved abuse, ignored notices, high-risk customer history, or repeated compromise may result in permanent suspension, termination, refusal of future service, domain action, or escalation to upstream providers.
Where permitted by law and the applicable service terms, Spantrix Limited may recover reasonable costs caused by abuse, including cleanup costs, administrative costs, bandwidth costs, chargeback costs, IP reputation remediation, legal costs, registry fees, and upstream-provider charges.
14. Relationship With the DMCA & Abuse Policy
Copyright notices, counter-notices, trademark complaints, general abuse reports, emergency abuse reports, law-enforcement routing, preservation requests, and related evidence requirements are handled under the DMCA & Abuse Policy. This Acceptable Use Policy remains enforceable even where a report is incomplete or does not follow the DMCA & Abuse Policy template.
